Crayton Middle School's team takes first in the state again

Crayton Middle School MATHCOUNTS team, under the leadership of veteran coach and math teacher John Rushman, finished first at the SC State MATHCOUNTS competition March 11, 2006, at the SC State Museum. Fourteen schools from across SC, along with several individual participants, battled it out to determine who was the best of the best. Crayton has placed first in the state for three out of the last four years. In overall scoring, Crayton students scored as follows: Sean Soni placed third, Caroline Cross placed ninth, Meredith Nix placed 12th, and Allison Day placed 15th. In the Countdown Round, Sean Soni placed second. Soni has been invited to attend the Nationals Competition in Washington D.C. as a member of the SC State Team. Rushman will be the state team coach.
