The Mimosa Garden Club met February 28, at the home of Ann Britton. Co-hostesses were Pam Cohen, Uta Valpey, and Sandra Whitener.

Phillip Jenkins, local real estate agent, musician, and self taught gardener shared with the members and guests slides of the winter landscape from his Richland County garden, Hollingshed. Jenkins also brought samples from his yard to show plants that add beauty to the winter garden. The Hollingshed Garden is almost always open for viewing and is located in Irmo. Members were invited to drop by to view the yard during different seasons.

When shopping for plants, Jenkins carries a collection of books to make sure what he buys is appropriate for the location. Jenkins also suggested taking pictures from different windows in your house to show what you see when looking out the window. His garden was featured in the August, 2005, Southern Living magazine and is well known for its year round beauty.
