Area businesses driving Project Pet Van

If you haven't seen the Project Pet Animal Transport Van yet, chances are you will soon. The van with the familiar logo, is traveling 500 miles per week throughout the Midlands delivering rescued animals from Richland and Lexington County shelters to various medical and grooming appointments, boarding kennels, and adoption events.
The van is vital, because Project Pet does not have a shelter. It was purchased with funds generously donated by Mungo Homes, Loveless and Loveless, Inc., Russell and Jeffcoat Realtors, and Simpsonville Chevrolet.
PETsMART Charities donated the funds to outfit the interior of the vehicle with permanent caging and a heat/air system to keep the pets comfortable during long rides.
Metro Signs provided the artwork for the exterior of the van.
Project Pet's Laura Mims Wolfe said, "Project Pet is so fortunate to have so many corporate and community friends who want to help spread the spay/neuter message." She added, "All donations are appreciated, big and small."
Project Pet only takes animals from shelters scheduled to be euthanized, not from the general public. For more information about Project Pet and adoption events visit www.projectpet.com or call 803-407-0991.
