Lower Richland girls head coach Deborah Stroman knew she had a special team. She told that to Dorman head coach Joy Couch a year ago. Now Stroman’s Diamond Hornets will face Couch’s Cavaliers for the state championship at 7 pm Friday, March 3 at the Colonial Center.

Lower Richland enters the game with a 25–3 record and got into the championship game by defeating Dutch Fork 45–39. The Diamond Hornets have a 25–point average margin of victory throughout the tournament. They are led by senior Eboni Davis who’s been with the program since the seventh grade, sophomore Fannie Goodwin, and freshman Morgan Stroman who’s averaging 11 points and eight rebounds per game.

The Dorman Cavaliers are playing for their fourth consecutive Class 4A state title. They enter the game with a 26–2 record and a slightly less than 21 point average margin of victory in the tournament. The Cavaliers are led by senior Lia Proctor, who will play volleyball for Clemson next year, junior Bailey Dewart, and senior Nikki Wood.
