Dreher High School Three D Players present

The Crucible
Contributed by Dreher High School

What begins due to the bitterness of one girl develops into an unstoppable, manipulative group of young girls, driven by terror and deceit. Their conniving lies, absurd behavior, and dishonest convictions lead a community to nearly implode through unjust accusations and error. This group of selfish, hysterical girls infects their Puritan community and directly contributes to the deaths of innocent souls.

Arthur Miller’s timeless tale of thinly veiled McCarthyism will be presented by the Three–D Players of Dreher High School as part of their on–going dramatic series of tragedy through performance. As Dreher High School works towards ABC School Status, The Crucible will enhance the efforts of cross–curricular studies between the arts, English, history, and social studies.

The star cast of Dreher High School veteran actors includes Drew Kennedy as the martyred John Proctor, Allison Arvay as the conniving Abigail Williams, Ali Collins as the wronged Elizabeth Proctor, Elizabeth May as the witness Mary Warren, Luke Bradley as the conflicted Reverend Hale, Roddey Smith as the greedy Reverend Parris, and Daniel Stone as the unmoving Governor Danforth.

Director Jeanette Arvay and the Three–D Players are humbled to revisit Salem and bring this allegorical story to life.

The Crucible plays February 23–25 at 7:30 pm at the Dreher High School Auditorium. Tickets are available at the door:
