Vegas comes to the Midlands
Yes! You can be-lieve your eyes! Las Vegas is coming to the Midlands. Viva Las Vegas Night is coming to Cardinal Newman School in Forest Acres Saturday evening, February 11, 2006. Festivities will take place in the Cardinal Newman gymnasium and cafeteria.
Paola Maoli and her team of dedicated volunteers have worked for an entire year to plan and conduct Cardinal Newman School’s 10th Annual Auction. They have collected auction items donated by local businesses and Cardinal Newman parents.
The theme this year is Viva Las Vegas, and the auctioneer for the live auction is local celebrity and businessman, Mike Genova. The live auction begins at 8:30 pm. Music will be provided by D.J. Barry Miller, and a silent auction begins at 6 pm. Tickets are available at the door for $45 each. Admission includes access to some delicious deserts, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and coffee.
The auction is one of two major fund raisers held by the school to support education programs at Cardinal Newman School. Maoli reports that corporate gifts and donations have already totaled $33,000. There will be some awesome items on which to bid.
The community is invited to come on out to Cardinal Newman School and join the fun while supporting a good cause.
