PROJECT: #C-1040-2 Wessinger Road Regional Water System

Sealed proposals will be received by the Town of Chapin Utilities Department, SC, for construction of the Wessinger Road Regional Water System. Proposals will be accepted from any Contractor qualified to bid under the South Carolina Licensing Law, until 2:00 p.m. ., local time, March 2, 2006 at the Town of Chapin, 103 Columbia Ave. Chapin, South Carolina.

The PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held on February 21, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. , local time, at the Town of Chapin, 103 Columbia Ave. Chapin, South Carolina, 29036.

The proposals of those bidders showing satisfactory evidence that they are appropriately licensed will be publicly opened by the Engineer. The work to be done consists of, but not limited to the following: The installation of 2,500 LF of 8” DIP water main with valves, hydrants and appurtenances or; Alternate I – Installation of 2,500 LF of 12” DIP water main with valves, hydrants and appurtenances. Project will start at Old Lexington Hwy and Stuck’s Point Road near Chapin, SC and extend 2,500 LF toward Wessinger Road. There will be a ninety (90) day construction period.

The Town of Chapin reserves the right to waive technicalities, to reject any or all bids and to make such awards as, in the opinion of the Town, appear to be to the best interest of the Town. A 5% bid bond is required to be submitted with contractor’s proposal.

Plans, specifications and bid proposal forms can be obtained at the office of Palmetto Consulting Engineering Group, Inc. 1343 Garner Lane, Suite 200, Columbia, South Carolina, 29210 on or after January 31, 2006 for a non-refundable payment of $50.00.
