Clarissa Bennett’s class at Round Top Elementary School in Blythewood took the honors.

What had Bennett and her class logged on to see, from the more than 40,000 standards– approved video clips they had to choose from? — a snippet from Junior Oceanographer: Oceans, Weather, and Climate.

“ETV StreamlineSC has been an invaluable tool for instruction.  The videos help students to visualize the subject matter, offering being there experiences for children while in the classroom,” comments school speech pathologist, Clarissa Bennett.  “This allows for better understanding of the content, creating relevancy for the students. Since I work with students from all grade levels, I enjoy the opportunity to look up videos based on state standards, subject matter, or by my instructional goals. It is a great way to reach auditory and visual learners while enhancing the lesson!"

Now, the Roundtop Elementary School family awaits their grand prize, courtesy of ETV and Discovery Education, in recognition of this accomplishment.

Sometime within the next few weeks, an ETV vehicle will roll up to the front door of Round Top and ETV staffers will greet the excited kids with an Infocus LCD projection monitor (all the better to see StreamlineSC with!). A special celebration with goodies galore will punctuate the day for the students, faculty and staff at Round Top Elementary.

Dean Byrd, director of distance learning at ETV said, “When we kicked off StreamlineSC a little over one year ago, we knew we had a wonderful service that teachers and students would love. The fact that StreamlineSC has received its 1,000,000th hit in such a short period of time, tells us we were right.”
