Animal Mission has record breaking results
The month of December was a record breaking adoption month at the City of Columbia’s Animal Services Division. Fifty two more animals were adopted in December 2005 than were in December 2004, 57% more than 2003, 41% more than 2002 and 2001, and 48% more than 2000.
Animal Services director Marli Drum stated, “I think we can attribute that to more people learning about out new adoption facility and the city’s and Animal Mission’s efforts to get the word out to promote the adoption of shelter pets. We really appreciate that more people are realizing that shelter pets make great pets, and we hope the public will continue adopting our animals.”
The pets at the Animal Mission are already spayed/neutered, micro chipped, and started on their vaccinations and dewormer. Adoption fees start at $58. Contact 776-PETS (7387).
