Miss Cox and Mr. Tucker marry in St. Michael’s Episcopal Church
Mrs. Kenneth Mack Tucker Jr. Elizabeth Legaré Cox and Kenneth Mack Tucker Jr. were married Saturday, November 12, 2005, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina. The Rev. Richard Irving Heyward Belser performed the 6:30 pm ceremony. Music was provided by Lee Meyer Kohlenberg, organist, and Gregory Schoonover, trumpeter.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Artemas Elliott Cox. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Clarence Otto Kuester Jr. and the late Mr. Kuester of Charlotte, North Carolina, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Radford Brantly Cox. She is a graduate of Hollins University with a BA in economics with a business concentration. She is an Ed.S. and M.A. candidate for school psychology at The Citadel.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Howard Stallings of Cuba, Alabama, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mack Tucker Sr. of Demopolis, Alabama. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Virgil Pierce and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Dewey Tucker, all of Demopolis, and Mr. and Mrs. John Edwin Stallings Jr. of Cuba. The bridegroom is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a BA in construction management and a minor in studio art. He is employed by Mashburn Construction Company in Charleston.
The bride was escorted by her father. Her matron of honor was her sister, Catherine Cox Williamson of Athens, Georgia. The bridesmaids ere Ashley Taylor Cantrell of Charlotte, North Carolina; Deveaux Quackenbush Carter of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; Jessica Marie Griffin of North Port, Alabama; Jean Singleton Hood of Charleston; Julia Rowland Johnson of Walterboro, South Carolina; Cornelia Wynne Lenderman of Charleston; Catherine Young Lyons of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Eliza Darby Mann; Rae Louise McPherson of Atlanta, Georgia; Jennifer Johnston Perkins of Jacksonville, Florida; and Dosty Dewey Quarrier of Charlotte. The flower girls were Anne Peyre Deveaux Carter and Rose Cooper Carter, both of Mount Pleasant.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. The groomsmen were Christopher Lee Collins of Austin, Texas; Britton Gilchrist Condon of Pensacola, Florida; Tyler Elliott Eaton Cooper of Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina; Samuel Taylor Grant of Charleston; Patrick Eugene Jones of Port St. Joe, Florida; Shawn Chadwick Parsons of New York, New York; Gregory Elliott Roberts of Oxford, Mississippi; Brian Joseph Saliba of Brooklyn, New York; William Jenkins Williamson Jr. of Athens, Georgia; and Wiley Dennis Wood III of Telluride, Colorado. The senior ushers were the bride’s uncles, Alan Willis Kuester of Charlotte and Edward Coke Mann III.
Readers at the ceremony were the bride’s godmothers Eugenia Cox Mann and Jane Kuester Taylor of Charlotte. Will Henry Lawrence served as the acolyte.
A reception followed at the Hibernian Society Hall. After a wedding trip to The Cloister at Sea Island, Georgia, the couple will reside in Mount Pleasant.
