The City of Forest Acres is proud to announce its second annual premier holiday festival, Sweet Seasons. The festive event will feature food and refreshments including specialty desserts from local restaurants as well as local entertainment. The evening will culminate in the lighting of the Forest Acres holiday tree.
Sweet Seasons takes place Tuesday, November 29, from 6 to 8 pm in the parking lot of Forest Acres City Hall Building at 5205 North Trenholm Road. Parking will be available across the street.
A welcoming from Mayor Brunson will begin at 7 pm followed directly by the tree lighting. The public is invited and encouraged to attend the family–friendly event. There will be activities for the entire family including a steel drum band and other musical entertainment, a balloon artist, magician, face painter and door prizes. Plus, local restaurants will be on hand offering free food samples and gift certificates as part of the door prizes.
Sweet Seasons is a free event sponsored by the City of Forest Acres, participating restaurants of the new Forest Acres Restaurant & Merchant Association, the Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties, and the Forest Acres Publix. The event is designed as an opportunity for families and friends to gather together welcome the holiday season and enjoy the festivities.
Forest Acres City Administrator, Mark Williams said, “The City is happy to offer Sweet Seasons for the second year in a row. Last year’s event was a big success and it’s a great way for Forest Acres residents and visitors alike to come together. We hope this will become a great family holiday tradition for Forest Acres.”
