The officers of the Eau Claire Music Club of Columbia are preparing for their Parade of American Music to be presented at the November 15 meeting in recognition of the National Federation of Music Club’s (NFMC) American Music Month.

American Music Month was established by the NFMC in 1955 with the purpose of creating special emphasis on all kinds of American music. Originally, this was a February event. In 1999, the time was changed to November.

Federated Music Clubs in SC, as well as over the nation, compete for the Rudolf R. A. Schramm Award which is given for the most outstanding American music program presented in November.
