Service for Jerry Landis Gossett, 47, will be held Thursday at 1 pm at Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, with burial in Northeast Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6–8 pm Wednesday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Memorials may be made to Thornwell Children’s Home, 300 S. Broad Street, Clinton, SC 29325.

Jerry died Monday, November 7, 2005. Born in Spartanburg, he was a son of Elizabeth King Gossett and the late William David Gossett. He was a graduate of Spring Valley High School, attended the University of South Carolina, and was the owner and operator of Memory Express, a computer consulting firm. He was a member of the Columbia Action Council for 12 years and was actively involved with and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Carolina Carillon Parade and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Jerry was the owner and operator of Memory Express, a computer consulting firm specializing in Apple computers. He was one of the most extensively trained software technicians in SC. After working with Richland District One information center, he took his talent to many other school districts in the state. It was through his skills that schools were wired and networked for computer instruction.

The Columbia Star was one of the many local firms who benefitted from Jerry Gossett’s skills. The Columbia Star’s information and publishing systems were designed and installed by his company.

Surviving are his mother of Columbia; brothers, David William Gossett of Easley and Mark I. Gossett of Columbia; son, Jason Browne and his wife, Jessica of Columbia; and granddaughter, Paxton Browne.
