Miss Miller and Mr. Norris exchange vows in Winnsboro, SC

Mrs. Robert Harold Norris III
Mrs. Robert Harold Norris III Sydney Cromer Miller of Newberry, South Carolina, and Robert Harold Norris III of Columbia were married November 5, 2005, at Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Winnsboro. The Rev. Preston Brooks Huntley Jr. and the Rev. Janet Ellen Tarbox performed the 6 pm ceremony. Music was provided by Mrs. John Vinson Nicholson Jr., organist.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Rhett Miller of Winnsboro, South Carolina, is the granddaughter of Mrs. Harold McCoy Miller and the late Mr. Miller of Lancaster, and Mrs. Benjamin Luther Cromer and the late Mr. Cromer of Spartanburg. She is a graduate of Dreher High School and The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. She is employed as executive director of the Newberry County Hospital Foundation.

The bridegroom, son of Mrs. Robert Harold Norris Jr. and the late Mr. Norris of Edgefield, is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harold Norris of Edgefield and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Bolton Jr. Following service in the United States Coast Guard, the bridegroom graduated from Francis Marion College. He is a manager with PSM International in Newberry.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a custom made dress in ball gown style of diamond white silk organza over pink silk dupioni. Her dress was embellished with hand–sewn rose quartz crystals. She also wore the cameo pendant necklace which was her father’s gift to her mother on the eve of their wedding in 1962. The maid of honor was Mary Lillian Louise Salerno, niece of the bride. The bridesmaid was Mallie Caroline Salerno, niece of the bride.

Thomas Harris Stone Jr. served as his uncle’s best man. The ushers were Kenneth Huram Baker; Terry Markum Cumbee; David Gary McManus, cousin of the bride; and John Umberto Salerno, the bride’s brother–in–law.

William Davis Gibson was crucifer. Acolytes were Creighton Buchanan Coleman Jr. and Chandler McNair Coleman.

A reception followed at Fairfield Country Club.

The couple will reside in Newberry after a wedding trip to the mountains.
