Homecoming Queen Victoria Lawrence and Homecoming King Raheim Bethel

Homecoming 2005 was held at CA Johnson Preparatory Academy (CAJPA) October 17–21. The week was filled with fun events, including a dance and coronation.

This year also marked the return of the homecoming parade. Young and old alike lined Barhamville Road to show their school pride. Benedict College band, Benedict College Cheerleaders, WA Perry Civil Air Patrol, CA Johnson Band, and CA Johnson Cheerleaders were just a few of the participants in the homecoming parade. The parade started from Chesnut Street and ended at Bolden Stadium for a Hornet Fest where vendors set up to sell food and clothing. There was also a DJ playing the latest R&B and hip hop hits.

By game time, the crowd was hyped up to cheer their team to victory. The first half of the game showed promise for the Hornets. The Mighty Hornets were staying close with the Gilbert Indians. They only trailed by one touchdown. However, the Hornets just couldn’t keep their momentum during the second half. The Indians pulled away, and by the end of the game the score was 42 to 20.

The young ladies and gentlemen dazzled the crowd. Victoria Lawrence and Raheim Bethel were crowned Homecoming Queen and King. Brittany Trapp and Sylvester Young won first runner up. Nechelle Commander and Cedric Isaac won second runner up.

Even though the Hornets didn’t pull off a win, Homecoming 2005 was a grand event. The young men played hard and homecoming court was sensational!
