Spring Valley bounced back from a heartbreaking overtime loss to Irmo last week and dominated the visiting Dutch Fork Silver Foxes Friday, October 14 at District 2 Stadium in Blythewood. The change in home field venue may have helped the Vikings overcome any lingering effects from the Irmo game.

The Vikings racked up 234 yards rushing and Andre Roberts added an 82–yard punt return for a touchdown to give the Vikings a 28–7 victory and new life in the battle for the Region 5–4A title race. Dutch Fork was riding a six game win streak and a victory against previously unbeaten Ridge View, but the Silver Foxes could muster only 201 yards total offense against the Vikings and gave up several big plays including a 35 yard touchdown pass from B.J. Phillips to Andre Roberts on third–and–12 with 6:57 remaining in the fourth quarter.
