The Garden Club Council of Greater Columbia will hold its first meeting of the year at the Garden Council Building, 1605 Park Circle, Maxcy Gregg Park, September 26. Enter from Pickens Street. The board will meet at 9 am, refreshments will be served at 9:30, and the program will begin at 10. James C. Kelly, owner of Wildbirds Unlimited, will speak on migrating birds. The public is invited.

The Shepherd’s Center of St. Andrews , 2600 Ashland, will hold its Plant Sale flats of pansies, and a variety of fall plantings. Orders must be made by October 3. Pickup will be October 4, 9 am–1 pm at Ashland Methodist Church.
