On September 14, Crayton students participated in three lessons and assemblies involving Crayton Cares. The lessons involved preparedness for home and school, character education and the ripple effects of caring and positive choices, and an integrated middle school program unit involving the environmental, global health, and community issues related to Katrina. American Red Cross Representative Karen Gray spoke about the six steps recommended by the Red Cross for emergency preparedness: talk, plan, learn, check supplies, tell, and practice. Crayton students presented Gray with a check for $6,330.79.
