Ben Lippen seniors named scholarship semi–finalists
Ben Lippen School seniors Andrew Blitch and Allison Foreman were recently recognized as two of the National Merit semi-finalists from the state of SC. Selection for the prestigious award is based on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT), which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.3 million entrants each year. They were two of the 16,000 students selected from the 50,000 nationwide high scorers on the exam.
National Merit Scholarship Finalists must meet high academic standards and other requirements after being selected as a semi-finalist based on the PSAT. Finalists will be notified in February 2006.
Earlier this year, Foreman was selected to attend Governor’s School at the College of Charleston. The prestigious school provides special academic opportunities for a limited number of rising high school seniors who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, intellectual potential and creativity.
