On the 25 of August, the Forest Acres Restaurant Association held a first ever event. Among the participating restaurants were Buster’s Bistro, Cold Stone Creamery, Fran’s, Groucho’s, The Happy Bookseller Café, Pasta Fresca, Little Stellini’s, and Tombo Grille.

Residents from around the Columbia area were invited to come and enjoy some free or discounted food along with entertainment which included cartoonists, musicians, and artists. “This event and those to come are possible because of the extra 2% sales tax on prepared food in Richland County,” said Lauren Goodale, manager of Pasta Fresca.

Palette–to–Palate was held “to promote local artists, artwork, musicians, and restaurants,” said Eddi Wales, manager of the Tombo Grille. Musicians included The Upton Trio and Bryan Swetnam. Some local artists included Blue Sky and Powers Strickland.
