Beth Shalom recognizes Columbia’s first synagogue

On Sunday September 11, at 9:30 am, Mayor Bob Coble will honor the site of Columbia’s first synagogue. The location of this synagogue was on the corner of Hampton and Assembly Streets. This program is part of Columbia Beth Shalom Synagogue’s Centennial Weekend Celebration. The Jewish Historical Society of SC will honor this 100th anniversary of Beth Shalom by holding their annual fall meeting in Columbia.
