Free football, basketball, plays and more! It is time for senior citizens in Richland School District Two to enrich their golden years with a Gold card from the district. Gold cards are offered to anyone age 60 or older living in the district and to all Richland Two retirees.

Richland School District Two will issue Gold Cards to senior citizens from 9 am–4 today at the District Office, 6831 Brookfield Road, Columbia, S.C. 29206. Anyone who is interested should come by the District Office, fill out a form and have their picture taken for the card.

Gold cardholders enjoy (1) a discount on Adult Education courses, (2) free admission to concerts, plays and other events sponsored by district schools, (3) free admission to all regular season athletic events (playoff games are not included), and (4) lunch in any school cafeteria, any day, for the regular adult price: $2.75.

Gold cards have no expiration date; however, if anyone holds a “temporary” card, he or she may choose to come to the registration on August 12 to receive a permanent photo ID card.
