Town Theatre’s production of Beauty & The Beast , September 9–October 8, features 61 actors including five sets of parents/offspring and three sets of siblings.

Kathy Hartzog’s nine– year–old–daughter Leslie has been coming to rehearsals and performances with her mom since she was 18 months old. Early on Leslie loved to memorize both songs and dialogue from her mom’s shows. It was the fulfillment of a longtime dream of Kathy’s, when they did Town Theatre’s The Music Man together in 2003. For Kathy, it was a lot of fun sharing the entire theatre experience with her daughter. Leslie says: “I love doing plays with my mom! When I need a little confidence, she is there for me.”

Lou and Kimmy Clyde
Lou and Kimmy Clyde As young children, Teresa Arnold’s daughters loved singing the songs as they watched the animated movie, Beauty & The Beast . It was one of their favorites. Both girls are very excited to be singing these songs on stage with their mom. This is the second show together for Mom and Rhyan, and the first show that Kendall has joined them.

Lou Clyde says that being a part of Beauty & The Beast has been great for daughter Kimmy and her. Kimmy is a high school senior, and this may be the last play they do together for a long time, so rehearsals and performances are guaranteed time to spend together. On the other hand, they drive dad and sister nuts when they break out singing, Be Our Guest or Gaston at random times.

Kathy and Leslie Hartzog
Kathy and Leslie Hartzog Pam Milas feels that community theatre is one of the best things in life for her and daughter Rachel to be involved in. Working together in theatre gives Pam and Rachel an opportunity to stay connected while taking care of their own methods of creativity. No other activity gives them the sense of fulfillment that theatre does. As a member of the technical staff, Pam does her part to help a show run smoothly, and Rachel’s confidence is boosted knowing Pam is in the house, every night, working backstage, running lights or doing sound.

Savannah and Chris Kruzner
Savannah and Chris Kruzner This is Chris Kruzner and his daughter Savannah’s fifth performance together. They commute to Town Theatre from Lake Murray, Chapin. Chris says the opportunity to act with his high school daughter is priceless because it has opened the door of communication at a different level. Both enjoy the experience of growing as actors and singers, and their fellow actors and staff have become part of their family.
