Miss Kergosien and Mr. Moore exchange vows July 30, 2005

Mrs. Stephen Jahue Moore Jr.
Mrs. Stephen Jahue Moore Jr. Melissa Jeanne Kergosien and Stephen Jahue Moore Jr. were married in Ashland United Methodist Church July 30, 2005, at 6 pm. Rev. Thom Jones performed the double–ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jeanne Kergosien McKinney of Columbia, South Carolina, and Gregory Gaines Kergosien Jr. of Gulfport, Mississippi. Her maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Albury of Lakeland, Florida. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Gaines Kergosien of St. Bay Louis, Mississippi. She graduated from Irmo High School and Lander University with a BA in political science, magna cum laude. The bride is presently a third year law student at Mercer University School of Law.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Jahue Moore Sr. His maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Myers Walker. His paternal grandparents are Mrs. Jane Epps Moore and the late Mr. Samuel Jahue Moore. He graduated from Irmo High School and Presbyterian College with a BA in history, magna cum laude, and the University of South Carolina School of Law, with a juris doctor degree. He is a law clerk for the Honorable Kenneth George Goode.

The bride wore a gown of white silk duchess satin. The bodice which was strapless and featured beaded alençon lace with a scalloped trimmed natural waistline. The ball gown skirt featured a wide pleated panel in the front and the back had smaller pleats which fell to a chapel length train.

Two streamers of duchess silk satin fell from the back of the bodice to the hemline of the dress. The streamers were also edged with beaded scalloped alençon lace. Covered duchess satin buttons complimented the back of the dress which was designed by Amsale of New York.

The maid of honor was Katherine Myers Moore, sister of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Katie Marie Bolt, Casey Colley Bucker, Heather Denise Hunt, Jessica Lynn Patteson, Nancy Grigsby Todd, Mrs. Julia McCutcheon Wilkie, and Kristina Ann Young. The flower girl was Madelyn Christine King.

The father of the bridegroom served as best man. The groomsmen were John Randall Alphin; Lee Edward Dixon; Kenneth George Goode; John McCutcheon Moore, brother of the bridegroom; Michael Anthony Roman; Jonathan Watkins Stutts; and James Dorman Turner III. The ringbearer was Tyler Andrew Johnston.

A reception was held at the Columbiana Hotel and Conference Center.
