PROJECT: SS6971 SANITARY SEWER FROM

BANBURY ROAD TO #153 CHESHIRE DRIVE

Sealed proposals will be received by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Columbia, South Carolina, for sanitary sewer construction. Proposals will be accepted from any Contractor qualified to bid under the South Carolina Licensing Law, until 2:00 p.m., local time, August 18, 2005 at the second floor Conference Room, 1225 Laurel Street in Columbia, South Carolina. The proposals of those bidders showing satisfactory evidence that they are appropriately licensed will be publicly opened by the City Engineer. The work to be done consists of, but not limited to the construction of 465 LF of 10” DIP, 15 LF of 8” DIP and four (4) manholes.

The City of Columbia reserves the right to waive technicalities, to reject any or all bids and to make such awards as, in the opinion of the City, appears to be in the best interest of the City.

Plans, specifications and bid proposal forms are on display at the office of the Director of Utilities and Engineering, second floor, 1225 Laurel Street, Columbia, South Carolina, 29201. Copies of plans and specifications may be secured on or after August 1, 2005 at the office of the Director of Utilities and Engineering, City of Columbia, P.O. Box 147, Columbia, South Carolina 29217 for a non-refundable payment of $25.00 , payable to the City of Columbia, Department of Utilities and Engineering, for each set of drawings and specifications. NOTE: CHECKS MUST BE MADE PAYABLE TO THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, DEPARTMENT OF UTILITIES AND ENGINEERING.

The City of Columbia encourages the utilization of subcontractor procurement in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Subcontractor Outreach Program.

Information relating to Subcontracting Outreach program is provided in the bid proposal package for your use. There will be no pre-bid conference for the project, however for any questions and/or clarifications, contractors may call Debbie Scott or City Engineer’s office at (803)-545-3252.
