Spurrier to kickoff Columbia Touchdown Club’s season
USC Head Football Coach Steve Spurrier will be the spotlight speaker at the Columbia Touchdown Club’s first meeting of 2005 on Thursday, August 23 at Seawell’s on Rosewood Drive. The luncheon gathering begins at 11:45 a.m.
Participants must have season memberships to the TD Club to attend this meeting and the October 7 meeting featuring Clemson Coach Tommy Bowden.
All other meetings may be attended on a per event basis with tickets available at the door.
Individual season memberships are $125, Bronze for three members at $360, Silver Memberships for five members are $575, and Gold memberships for seven are $770. The deadline for ordering memberships is August 19. For more information, call (803) 254-9564.
Other speakers on the agenda are comic impressionist Scott Moore, whose interpretations of major college coaches like Lou Holtz have made him popular across the country. That meeting takes place Friday, September 16, and be followed on Thursday, September 29 by a talk from former Carolina Panther All–Pro Wesley Walls. Furman University Head Coach Bobby Lamb will speak Thursday, October 22.
The last meeting will feature former Clemson star Levon Kirkland and ex–Gamecock Corey Miller at the annual Clemson–Carolina program on Wednesday, November 16. Other TD Club meeting activities include scouting reports of USC opponents, honoring high school players, the Pick ’Em contest, and the awarding of door prizes.
