Laurel Crest honors America’s freedom July 4

2005-07-29 / Society

By Laura Chapman, director of resident services at Laurel Crest

Laurel Crest honored our nation’s freedom in a big way. The patio was filled with grills full of bar–b–que and everything that goes with it. Chef Jimmie Jackson made sure all the food and fixings were made to perfection. The facility was draped with red, white, and blue. Balloons, banners, and flowers were everywhere. The residents were all gaily attired with patriotic colors.

The food was served buffet/picnic style, and the weather was picture perfect. The residents, friends, and family made up about 250 people who celebrated July 4 together. Mrs. Laura Purvis had 25 family members join her for the feast. There was plenty of food, fellowship, and music as this loving community celebrated its country’s freedom.
