According to Brian McCants, teacher on special assignment coordinating construction and engineering at Hand Middle School, the school is being renovated. Twenty six portables have been brought to the school to accommodate one third of the student body at a time while construction is going on. Classrooms are being added onto the back of the building, and a new auditorium and new media center are being built.
