The Central Carolina Community Foundation’s new board members are John S. Goettee , J. Thomas Johnson , Neville O. Lorick , John H. Lumpkin Jr. , F. Xavier Starkes , and J. Hagood Tighe . The 2005–06 officers are chairman of the board of trustees, Samuel T. Tenenbaum ; chair-elect, Claude M. Walker Jr. ; and secretary/treasurer, Dave Sojourner . Thomas Harrell and Mike Kelly will serve a one–year appointment as representatives of the United Way of the Midlands and the Cultural Council of Richland/Lexington Counties respectively. J. Mac Bennett will serve on the board as he acts as president of the United Way of the Midlands.

R. Arthur Seaver Jr. has been named the 2005-06 chairman of the Community Bankers Council.

John P. Batson, MD, FAAP, has joined The Moore Orthopedic Clinic, PA.

Outgoing president of the Board of Directors of the National Kidney Foundation of SC Chip Hardy was honored with the President’s Award at the annual meeting in June. The new president is Hank Fisher.

Dr. Duncan A. Buell has been named interim dean of the USC College of Engineering and Information Technology effective August 1.
