The SC Jewelers Association officers are president, Britton Moseley; president–elect, Terri Stokes; vice president, Ruth Ann Lynn; executive secretary, Jane W. Spencer. The Board of Directors are Bill Thraves, Michael Ponthieus, Chip Turner, Phil Wagers, Todd Collins, Larry Beener, Jeff Thomason and associate member, Mickey Berrian.

The Historic Columbia Foundation Board of Trustees elected Steve Morrison as president. Other board members include first vice president, Call Watson; second vice president, Gloria James; secretary, Susan Brill; treasurer, Bill LaMotte; Rick Wade; Chris Brownlee; Krista Hampton; Mel Hart; ex–officio, Belinda Gergel. Retiring boards members are first vice president Charles Ashe and former secretary Judy Suggs.

SC Society of Association Executives officers and board of directors are Jim Bracewell, president; Alan Davis, vice president; Gary Cannon, treasurer; Erin Hardwick, secretary. Directors are David Herndon, Mark Dillard, Pat Watson, and Ryan Herron. Kathy Williams is past president.

Rep. Joe Wilson, a member of the Indian Water Council’s Advisory Board and an ardent supporter of Camp Barstow, was honored at a campfire dedication at the Boy Scouts’ Camp Barstow.

Hootie and the Blowfish Foundation pledged $60,000 over three years toward Countdown to Kindergarten, a program of SC First Steps.

Roehl Transport has named Vic Edwards Jr. a 2004 Independent Contractor of the Year.

The Humane Society congratulates Con. John Spratt for his outstanding leadership in protecting America’s horses. He was co–author of an amendment to halt the slaughter of 100,000 American racehorses, show horses, family ponies, and other horses for human consumption oversees.
