Mary Elizabeth Hall and Matthew Sean Granger were married June 11, 2005, in Memorial Chapel at Fort Jackson. Dr. Nick Ballew performed the double–ring ceremony. Music was provided by soloist David Mitchell Sr., the bride’s uncle who sang
Wind Beneath My Wings
. Other musicians were David Mitchell Jr., Jason Mitchell, Benjamin Mitchell, and Rae Rayfield.
The bride is the daughter of Gwen Franklin and Steve and Barbara Hall. Her maternal grandparents are Robert and Mary Outlaw. Her paternal grandparents are the late James and Romer Hall. The bride graduated from A. C. Flora High School and Columbia College with a degree in elementary education. She teaches fifth grade at Caughman Road Elementary School in Richland School District One.
The bridegroom is the son of Jack and Cathy Bennett and Richard Granger. His maternal grandparents are Kathryn Newman and the late Cheed Newman. His paternal grandparents are Anna Granger and the late Wilbur Granger. He graduated from Perris High School in Perris, California. He is in the US Air Force and is stationed at Shaw Air Force Base.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her sister, Jennifer Franklin, served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Frances Brinson and Adele Dixon. Ali Brinson was the junior bridesmaid. Olivia Outlaw was the flower girl.
Kris Conners served as best man. The groomsmen were Jake Bradd and Steven Jandzinski. Graham Mitchell was a junior groomsman. Keith Brinson was the ring bearer.
The reception was held at Scottish Rite Center. After a honeymoon to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, the couple will reside in Columbia with their cat, Milo.
