Friends, fun, and fajitas for Fido
Mariachi Puebla entertains guests
Pet lovers recently came together to enjoy a fun–filled evening and help Project Pet further its mission. The highly successful event was held at Hollywood Point, which boasts one of Lake Murray’s most spectacular views. For a minimum donation of $65, patrons enjoyed a Mexican theme which included Mariachi Puebla, a full six–piece live mariachi band, and fantastic food prepared by the retired owner of Tez’s Restaurant, Frank Cortez, known for his outstanding south of the border fare.
Dedicated volunteers and community activists like volunteers of Project Pet and 2002 SC Association of Veterinarians’ Association Humanitarian of the Year Award recipient, Deloris Mungo, were in attendance to help the organization reach its goals, which include building a no–kill pet shelter/adoption center.

According to its website, Project Pet strives “to alleviate animal suffering, set safe and humane standards for companion pets and shelters, and educate and increase awareness of the necessity for spaying and neutering to reduce the overall number of unwanted companion pets, eventually reducing the need for euthanasia.”
The organization makes positive changes for abused, abandoned, lost, and stray animals. The goal is to provide homeless and hurt animals hope for a better tomorrow.
