Lilac Garden Club held its final meeting of the year, May 11, 2005, at Forest Lake Country Club. Yearly reports were given on the club’s projects: Caughman Road Elementary School Butterfly Garden, Arbor Day, Tucker Center, Independence House, Town Theatre, and Council Green Thumb Festival.

Barbara Ridgill, president of the Garden Council of Greater Columbia, installed the 2005–2006 club officers. They are Betty McGregor, president; Donna Hill, vice president; Jeanette Kimbrough, secretary; Jo Hines, treasurer; and Betty Odiorne, past president.

Hostesses for the meeting were Betta Hepfer and Nancy Humphreys.
