In addition to working with Cherished Children International, Hoppenhauer is the Chapter Contact for the Greenville, SC Council on Adoptable Children (SC COAC), and is the recipient of the Dave Thomas Advocate of the Year Award from the SC COAC.

Hoppenhauer lives in Greenville, SC, with her husband and their two adopted children from Russia, Callie and Sean.
