Tech student named New Century Scholar
Natalya Hall, a student at Midlands Technical College, has been named SC’s New Century Scholar for 2005.
As SC’s 2005 New Century Scholar, Hall was recognized during the American Association of Community College’s annual Convention in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 9.
Each New Century Scholar will receive a $2,000 scholarship, presented by the Coca–Cola Foundation and the Coca–Cola Scholars Foundation.
Each state’s highest–scoring nominee for the All–USA Academic Team is chosen a New Century Scholar. The All–USA Academic Team annually invites community colleges to nominate two students per campus for this recognition, which selects a First, Second and Third team of 20 students each. The 2005 All–USA Academic Team was announced April 11 in USA TODAY , which co–sponsors the program with the American Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society for Two–Year Colleges.
