The next best chance for a high–end wine tasting is Monday night, May 2, at the Gourmet Shop in Five Points. Three top–flight chateaux, three that would probably be in the running if there ever were an addition to the five first growths, are supplying the Gourmet Shop for a tasting: Chateau Gazin, Chateau Pontet–Canet, and Chateau Branaire–Ducru.

Accompanying the wines are the three chateaux owners, amazingly enough, who will attend the entire evening, as will Columbia’s Jean Pierre Chambas.

After the tasting, there is no auction but a fine dining experience under the direction of guest chef Suzy Sheffield Cooper.
