Miss Horton and Mr. Hughey marry in Trinity Cathedral

Mrs. Landon Lonsdale HugheyMrs. Landon Lonsdale Hughey Eveleigh Orene Horton and Landon Lonsdale Hughey were married April 2, 2005, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. The Rev. Michael Radford Sullivan performed the 6 pm ceremony.

The bride, daughter of Brewer Tate Horton Jr. and the late Orene Stroud Horton, is the granddaughter of Mrs. Brewer Tate Horton and the late Mr. Horton of Burlington, NC, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Stroud of Great Falls, SC. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and is employed by Brandon Davidson Interiors.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Alvo Hughey, is the grandson of Mrs. Daniel Webster Hughey and the late Mr. Hughey, and Mrs. Paul Kendall Lonsdale and the late Mr. Lonsdale of Easley, SC. The bridegroom is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is an attorney with McAngus, Goudelock, & Courie.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless silk satin gown with delicate silver embroidery at the empire line and an embroidered broach catching the chapel length train.

The maid of honor was Jennifer Tower Coggiola. The bridesmaids were Katrina Kasten Billig; Augusta Wilson Brown; Stephanie Faith Greene; Carla Webster Hughey and Mary Carlyle Hughey, sisters–in–law of the bridegroom; Catherine Rose Peele; and Alison Catherine Wood, cousin of the bride. The honorary bridesmaids were Katherine Juk Draffin, Susie Bowman Horger, and Molly Brent Revere.

The father of the bridegroom served as best man. The groomsmen were Kenneth Wilson Collins Jr.; Gerald Reese Daniel; Geoffrey Albion Edgell; Brewer Tate Horton III, brother of the bride; Daniel Nathan Hughey and Dustin Patrick Hughey, brothers of the bridegroom; Kyle Ward Lourie; Duncan Chalker Newkirk Jr.; Andrew Taylor Smith; Alexander Rollinson Stalvey; Jonathan Ryan Stier; and Jack Lantaye Mimnaugh Tobias.

A reception was held at the Columbia Museum of Art. After a honeymoon trip to Anguilla and St. Bart’s, the couple will reside in Columbia.
