AKC dogs perform in agility trials
Contributed by The Greater ColumbiaObedience Club
The Greater Columbia Obedience Club will present three days of All Breed American Kennel Club Agility Trials April 8–10, 2005. This trial showcases AKC purebred dogs only.
Dog agility is one of the most popular sports an owner can do with his dog. This canine sport was begun in England and was patterned after the British equestrian events. The AKC held its first trial in 1994.
Canine agility has spread all over the US and the world. The teamwork of the dog and handler demonstrate their training and handling expertise while running a timed course comprised of jumps, tunnels, and obstacles.
