In the initial baseball tournament, the Forest Acres Baseball Classic played this past weekend at A.C. Flora High School, the Falcons were victorious over Richland Northeast 3–2 in Sunday’s championship tilt. That final game boosted ACF’s record to 4–0 as Coach Andy Hallett’s team swept all its games. RNE slipped to 2–3.
Brett Thompson was the winning pitcher and Nick Chinners absorbed the loss. Leading hitters were Flora’s Mo Holler (2 for 3 with 2 RBI) and for RNE Derrick Grantz (2 for 3) and Warren Scott (2 for 2).
Among those selected to the All–Tournament team from Flora were Cachere Freeman and Will Lewis. Chris Love and Shawn Glover were the Cavaliers’ representatives.
