  • Guests gathered for the unveiling of Divas and Dons Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Dianne’s on Devine. At 5 pm black cloths covering witty, light–hearted portraits by Roy Paschal were yanked away, and over 25 caricatures were presented to the crowd.
  • Paschal is a forensic artist for SLED and and a portrait artist. His oil portraits are in collections nationwide.

    Paschal’s picture of Dianne Light, the grande diva and owner of Dianne’s, is the center piece on the wall in front of the kitchen. On either side of Light are Ross Holmes of Ross Holmes Band and Billy Prato, the chef at Dianne’s. The largest picture on that wall is of the ten Kudzu Queens, sponsored by The Columbia Star.

    Other frequent pa-trons on other walls caricatured are Lulu Anderson, John Barnes, Ann Benson, Jack Brantley, Betsy Chaffin, Toby Chaffin, Bebe Chambers, Harriett Green, Daisy Harmon, Ross Holmes, Mimi Maddock, Catherine Matthews, Belinda Matthews, Jack Mills, Beth Noyes, Larry Reynolds, V. J. Shealy, Paul Sloan, Rick Smoak, Gail Waddell, John Whitehead, Bruce Wolff, and Elsie Wolff.
