Enjoy an exciting spring break at the SC State Museum with fun hands–on activities and presentations about amazing dinosaurs, cool cryogenics, and mystifying optical illusions during the weeks of March 21, March 28, and April 4.

Young paleontologists learn about fossils from creatures of the past and make dinosaur magnets to take home in a program from 2–3:30 pm in NatureSpace. The fossil program begins March 23 and will run March 25, 30, and April 1.

On March 22 and 29 at 2 pm and 3:30 pm, junior scientists will explore basic concepts of hot and cold and will be introduced to cryogenics in the cool program, “The Big Chill.”

Guests will get a taste of “Optical Illusions,” “Lights and Lasers,” “Inside the Atom,” and “Electricity.” On March 24, 31, and April 5, “The Best of Science Theater” will take place at 2 pm and 3:30 pm in the Science Theater.

Dinosaur activities continue during spring break with Museum and a Movie, beginning Monday, March 21. Selections from the dinosaur documentary PaleoWorld will be shown in the museum auditorium beginning at 1 pm. Each film, lasting about 30 minutes, explores everything from prehistoric birds to fossil investigation by using modern technology.
