Artwork by Danielle Cantey chosen for the cover of RCPL

Artwork by Danielle Cantey, a fifth grader at Hammond School, was chosen from 100 submissions from several Richland County schools because of its composition and vibrant colors. The students were invited to illustrate scenes from books by Christopher Paul Curtis, the featured guest for Richland County Public Library’s A(ugusta) Baker’s Dozen: A Celebration of Stories to be held April 22–23. The free event will be held at 7 pm at the Koger Center for the Arts. Curtis will sign books after the event and on Saturday from 11 am–2 pm at Storytelling for Families held at the Wheatley Branch, 931 Woodrow Street.
