AC Flora Boys (11–13)
Even stellar performances from Xavier Bovain (26) and Jerome Caughman (16), could not prevent the Falcons from losing to Fairfield–Central 81–66. ACF ended the regular season with 63–58 defeat of Eau Claire. Flora’s top scorers for the game were Caughman (29) and Eric Booker (19).
AC Flora Girls (14–9)
Laura Lane–Steele (18) and Jessica Kirkland (10) sparked the Lady Falcons to a 54–38 win over Fairfield Central. Lane–Steele (12) and Tierra Knotts (10) couldn’t pull the Falcons to a victory as Eau Claire prevailed 44–40 Friday.
Dreher Boys (8–16)
Curtis Sharpe and DeAngelo Alston (11 each) were the Blue Devils’ top scorers in the 54–44 loss to Strom Thurmond. Catoe White (13), Sharpe (11), and Case Stiglbauer (12) helped DHS finish on a positive note downing Chapin 60–50.
Dreher Girls (22–3)
Keturah Jackson (28), Tiffany Sumpter (16), and Audrey Castor (15) drove the Lady Blue Devils to a 78–55 victory over Strom Thurmond. In defeating Chapin 60–24, Jackson (20), Sumpter, and Ashley Morris (10 each) sparked the Blue Devils.
Lower Richland Boys (22–2)
Led by Mike Jones and Jeremiah Richardson (18 each), the Diamond Hornets outlasted Richland Northeast 63–56 and won the Region 5–AAAA regular season title. LR hit the century mark over Spring Valley, 100-50, paced by Jones (18), Quincy Johnson (17), William McLaughlin , and Mike Parker (15 each).
Lower Richland Girls (16–6)
In a 47–42 defeat by Richland Northeast, LR’s leaders were Fannie Goodwin (19) and Morgan Stroman (12). Goodwin (17) topped the scoring in the 50–37 win over Spring Valley.
Cardinal Newman Boys (19–4)
The Cardinals’ 60–41 victory over Augusta Christian was boosted by Brent Zokan (21), JP Nerbun (13), and Michael Lynch (12). CN’s ten–game winning streak ended as Wilson Hall won 42–38 Thursday despite a fine performance from Nerbun (16) and Zokan (14).
Cardinal Newman Girls (19–3)
With Emily Teegarden (20) and Colby Kucharski (18) leading, CN beat Augusta Christian 57–40.
Hammond School Boys (10–11)
In the 76–70 overtime win over Ben Lippen, the Skyhawks’ top scorers were Frank Martin (21), Daniel Bailey (13), Lex Patrick (12), and Wilson McWilliams (10). In the 70–57 loss to Heathwood Hall, Bailey (16) was Hammond’s leading scorer.
Hammond Girls (17–4)
Margaret Clay (20) along with Lauren Smith and Ali Hymson (12 each) led in the 50–35 victory over Ben Lippen. In topping Heathwood Hall 58–28, Clay (11) and Alex Snyder (10) paced the Lady Skyhawks.
Heathwood Hall Boys (12–9)
In the 70–57 victory over Hammond, the Highlanders’ top scorers were Odist Harmon and Rhodes Amaker (16 each) along with Brandon Gant (14), J.D. Whalen (13), and David Kirby (11). Friday, Heathwood bested Augusta Christian 66–47 behind Kirby (17), Harmon (12) and Amaker (11).
Heathwood Hall Girls (4–10)
The Lady Highlanders lost to Hammond 58–28.
