Coach Hugh Hogeye Jones Photo by Phillip Jones “Coach” Hugh Hogeye Jones was recently honored at the annual Lower Richland High School Football banquet. He was recognized for over 50 years of dedicated service to the football teams and chain gang crew. Coach Jones has been helping the teams since 1948. He became captain of the chain gang crew in the early 60s when Coach Mooney Player came to Lower Richland to take the team to the State Championship in 1965. Jones has not missed a home varsity game in 41 years.
