Local restaurant misses goats
Stephen Chesley has been part of the art scene in Five Points for as long as he has been painting in Columbia. Goats adorned a wall in Goatfeathers from its earliest days on Devine Street. The painting became such a fixture at Goatfeathers no one ever thought about offering to buy it.
The picture is now hanging in a private residence. The goats Chesley rendered in white have become a bit yellowed by years of cigar smoke.
Among the pieces Chesley has submitted to Paint Five Points are a scene of the railroad trestle crossing Blossom Street and the Chinese restaurant on Harden Street.

According to Geah Presgrove of Ferillo and Associates, the public relations firm serving as repository of the art, all the pieces expected have now been submitted. “Plans for a late February reception are being made,” she said.
Following the reception where all the art will be displayed, the pieces will be on a tour of art throughout the area.
