AC Flora Boys – (3–6)

The AC Flora boys are participating in Capital City Classic at Allen University this week.

AC Flora Girls – (3–6)

AC Flora girls also are playing in the Capital City Classic.

Dreher Boys – (4–6)

The Blue Devils played in the Outback Steakhouse Tournament in Sumter this past week but fell twice. In the first game, Lakewood defeated the Blue Devils 56–54. Drew Dixon’s 17 points and 12 more from DeAngelo Austin weren’t enough to rescue Dreher. In the other game, a 56–49 loss to Sumter, Cato White was the top scorer for Dreher.

Dreher Girls – (4–0)

The Dreher girls will join the boy’s team in a doubleheader at home against gainst Keenan on January 4.

Lower Richland Boys – (7–1)

The Lower Richland boys won the Classic I title in the Chick Fil-A Classic Tournament. See accompanying story.

Lower Richland Girls – (4–1)

After a week off for Christmas, the Lady Diamond Hornets will play in the Capital City Classic at Allen University this week.

Cardinal Newman Boys – (6–2)

The Cardinals are back in action at the Holy City Tournament at Charleston this week. They play Academic Magnet in the first game followed by battles against St. Joseph’s and Northwoods Academy.

Hammond Boys – (4–4)

In the Porter–Gaud Tournament in Charleston, the Skyhawks finished at 1–3. The one victory came over St. John’s Christian, 65–59, Hammond lost to Sidwell Friends from Washington, D.C. by the final margin of 48–31. No Hammond player hit in double figures, but two freshmen were the leading scorers for Coach Jimmy Braddock’s squad. Wilson McWilliams scored 8 points and Daniel Bailey had 6. Usually high scoring Frank Martin and Lex Patrick were held to 5 apiece

Hammond Girls – (5–2)

In Charleston, the Lady Skyhawks broke even. After knocking off Charlotte Country Day, the Lady Skyhawks slipped in a clash with St. Mary’s, 61–51. Alex Snyder scored 15 points while Lauren Smith and Margaret Clay each contributed 15 in the losing effort.

Heathwood Hall Boys – (3–4)

The Highlanders were 1–2 in the Porter–Gaud Tournament at Charleston. The final game was won by Stewart, VA 62–61. JD Whalen led Heathwood with 21 points, Odist Harmon added 14 and David Kirby posted 11.
