The Riverbanks Zoo will hold a Winter Break Camp December 27–29 for children ages 6–9 years old. The camp begins at 8:20 am and ends at 3 pm. The camp involves three fun–filled days packed with hands–on activities, live animal encounters, arts and crafts, zoo walks, and tons of games.

Riverbanks Zoo &Garden invites your family to the 3–D Action Theatre for a limited engagement of the holiday film A Tinkerdoodle Christmas. The animated 3–D film plays daily during the zoo’s regular operating hours, as well as nightly during the Lights Before Christmas. The zoo is open daily except for Thanksgiving and Christmas. 779-8717

Let’s Speak English, the Richland County Public Library’s program that facilitates conversation among international and local adult volunteers, will begin in January at three library locations, St. Andrews Regional Branch, Southeast Regional Branch, and the National Regional Branch. The Columbia Harmonizers Chapter of the International Barbershop Harmony Society invites all men of all ages who want to sing. The group meets on Thursday evenings, 7:30 pm at the Shandon United Methodist Church.

Arts At Shandon presents a violin and piano duo featuring Neil Casey, violin and Voncille Williams, piano in a program of Mozart, Franck, Liszt, Francesco, and Kreisler January 7, 7:30 pm at Shandon Presbyterian Church. The concert is free to the public and donations are accepted. 771-4408

The USC School of Music will hold an Eckert/Cooper guest artist recital January 10 featuring faculty members of the University of Colorado. USC’s William Terwillinger, violin, also will perform. Charles Fugo will perform classical piano music on January 18. Colin Williams will perform a trombone recital on January 24.
