The National Technical Honor Society Student Recognition Program was hosted November 30 at the Airport Campus of Midlands Technical College. Thirteen area high school juniors and seniors received certificates of recognition from the college for academic excellence in career and technology education at Brookland–Cayce High School, Heyward Career and Technology Center, Lexington Technology Center, Ridge View High School, and White Knoll High School. All of the honorees are active members of their respective National Technical Honor Society chapters.

Guests met with representatives of the college and local workforce to explore educational and career choices in the areas of Industrial and Engineering Technology, Health Sciences and Nursing, Information Systems Technology, and Business Technology.
The National Technical Honor Society, which is headquartered in Flat Rock, NC, chartered its first chapter in upstate South Carolina in 1984. Today, this national honor organization serves over 1,800 schools and colleges throughout the USA and overseas.
