AC Flora Boys – (2–1)

After falling to Richland Northeast 61–40, the Falcons defeated Lakewood 85–58 led by Erik Booker (25 pts.) and Mo Holler (16) then capped the first week of the regular season with a 43–42 victory over Spring Valley. Jermaine Cahogan notched 16 pts and Xavier Bovain had 11.

AC Flora Girls – (1–2)

The Lady Falcons lost the regular season opener to RNE 41–36 but came back strong to defeat Lakewood as Tiara Knotts and Laura Lane–Steele each scored 14 points. Tiara Scott added 11. The week ended losing to Spring Valley 59–46. Knotts (18 pts) and Lane Steele (13) were ACF’s top scorers.

Dreher Boys – (1–0)

The Blue Devils led early but fell to Lower Richland 59–48. Top scorers for DHS were De Angelo Austin (17 pts) and Curtis Sharp (12).

Dreher Girls – (1–0)

The Blue Devils opened the season over L.R. 70–56. Superstar Keturah Jackson (38 pts) and Ashley Harris (12) led the Lady Blue Devils.

Lower Richland Boys – (1–1)

In the season–opening win over Dreher, Justin Scott (14 pts) and Jeremiah Richardson (10) paced the Diamond Hornets. L.R. was edged 51–50 by AAA power Keenan Friday. Mike Jones (11 pts) was the only Diamond Hornet in double figures.

Lower Richland Girls – (1–1)

Falling 70–56 to Dreher, Fannie Goodwin and Morgan Stroman scored 16 points each, and Ebony Davis had 12. Lower Richland, led by Goodwin’s 16 points, rolled by Keenan 72–23.

Cardinal Newman Boys – (5–0)

The Cardinals continued a hot run defeating Richard Winn 54–41. Brent Zokan (22 pts), J.P. Nerbun (14) and John Wilson (10) topped the scorers. In taking King Academy 48–21, Zokan and Wilson each tallied 18. With a 78–51 decision over St. Francis, Zokan scored 21, Nerbun and Michael Lynch each posted 14, and Wilson scored 13.

Cardinal Newman Girls – (5–0)

Jamie Shaw was the leading scorer in consecutive games. In a 72–34 victory over Winn, Shaw had 17, Emily Teegarden 15, and Casey Andrews 11. Against King, 50–35, Shaw had 16 pts and Teegarden added 12.

Hammond Boys – (1–0)

Frank Martin’s 19 points topped the Skyhawks output in a 53–30 season opening victory over Lawrence Manning.

Hammond Girls – (2–0)

With a 46–37 triumph over Lawrence Manning, Lauren Smith (15 pts) was joined by Margaret Clay and Sara Parker Mounce who each had 10. Clay scored 18 and Smith logged 12 as the Lady Skyhawks defeated Wilson Hall 50–23.
