Jack Pfeiffer and Jim Wise win the CCC’s Member–Member with an overall score of 173.

The Columbia Club Fall Member–Member is a competitive rivalry at its best. One hundred eight players, 54 partnerships, battled for first place over two days of beautiful weather, fast greens, and a challenging format. When a player competes against his best friend it takes his golf game up one level.

Jim Wise and Jack Pfeiffer teamed up to win an amazing overall low gross score of 173 for the weekend tournament of December 4 and 5. Johnny Guyton and Charles Williams grasped the victory cup in securing the overall low net score of 168. Eddie Hargett and Kurt Wilson won the Flight 4 and 5 with an overall low gross score of 192. Doug Rice and Bob King were the low net winners with a 168. All the victors are set to defend their title for the upcoming Spring Member– Member.

Charles Williams and Johnny Guyton win with an overall low net score of 168. Wise and Pfeiffer knew they had played well, but the anticipation of the other player’s scores contributed to some anxious and tense moments as the partners waited quietly around the scoreboard.

The 36 holes of competition were divided into nine–hole segments. First round: alternate shot. Second round: captain’s choice. Third round: best ball. Fourth round: aggregate ball. The field divided into five flights.

Doug Rice and Bob King win the Fourth and Fifth Flight with an overall low net score of 168. Tournament participant Don Maclean said, “I love the competition. There are a lot of good golfers who belong to this club.”

“Pin placements were tough. There were no tap–ins,” said Doug Rice and Bob King, winners of overall net score for the 4th and 5th Flight.
